Difference between Facebook PPC and Traditional Search Engine PPC

Facebook PPC vs Google PPC

PPC- Pay per click Advertising is most effective way to reach target audience nowadays. In earlier blog posts, I have been described you about how Search engine (Google) and Facebook use PPC in advertising.  Did you ever thought about the difference between Traditional Search Engine PPC (Google Advertising) and Facebook PPC..?
Google Ads or Facebook Ads
In terms of Keywords using in both Google and Facebook, we can see the difference. In traditional Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertising, people type what they are looking for into search engines. The words that they type are called keywords, and these keywords are what advertisers bid on for exposure.
In Facebook advertising, keywords are described people’s interests. These keywords describe who the person that Ad should appear to, instead of what those people are looking for. That’s why advertisers should focus on the difference between Google PPC Ads and Facebook PPC Ads.

We can see where Google Ads focuses on the particular product and Facebook Ads focuses on the people. In Facebook advertising we have to add more demographics variable in the campaign. Here are some comparisons of the Facebook and Google Ad campaigns that may help you to understand some differences.

Keyword Targeting
Facebook: Targeting with keywords is optional
Google: Keyword specification is required

Targeting Details
Facebook: Can target by location, keywords, interest, workplace, birthdate and/or age
Google: Can target by location and keywords

Ad Placement
Facebook: Direct to users right on their profile page
Google: Ads are often placed on obscure, undisclosed websites

Market Saturation
Facebook: It's a newer platform, so fewer advertisers
Google: Crowded, it is still one of the top-producing online advertising networks

As I mentioned in my earlier blog post, through Facebook advertising we can target a niche market and get their attention more than the Google PPC campaign.>> (earlier post)

Facebook outrun google Facebook Advertising is more interactive with the people. That also may lead to attract new customers and build loyalty among existing customers as well. Facebook is everywhere and growing rapidly. So Advertising through Facebook is a door to a gold mind for marketers. That may beneficial for the marketers who trying to attract more customers through online. In my point of view, even though Facebook PPC Advertising is in growing age it can outrun the Google PPC Advertising in near future...

  5. I didn't know this before, but with site extensions on your Adwords ads you can give people several options to visit your page, or, just offer a bunch of different ad copy in the form of links that all point to the same place. Do you have sitelinks setup, and actively gaining impressions/clicks in your account? If that sounds tricky, it isn't as difficult as you might imagine.
